Role Overview:
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing portfolios comprising fixed-income securities equities, and alternatives. This role involves working closely with clients to develop tailored investment strategies, monitoring portfolio performance, and making informed decisions with the aim of achieving optimal returns while aligning with client investment objectives and maintaining acceptable levels of risk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop clear investment policies with clients, considering their financial goals and risk tolerance.
- Advise clients on investment opportunities, leveraging a deep understanding of economic and market trends.
- Manage equity and bond portfolios with a focus on maximizing returns and maintaining risk adjusted strategies.
- Collaborate with investment teams to identify opportunities in fixed-income markets, including high yield, investment grade, and emerging market bonds.
- Collaborate with investment research teams to identify high-potential stocks and assess opportunities in various sectors and regions.
- Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance against benchmarks, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize returns.
- Create and present comprehensive reports on portfolio performance, investment activity, and market conditions.
- Monitor market trends, interest rate movements, and credit developments to proactively adjust portfolio allocations.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on their accounts, address concerns, and discuss economic or market developments.
- Commensurate acceptable levels of risk based on client instructions, balancing performance with capital preservation objectives.
- Handle financial products and collaborate with research teams to structure innovative investment solutions.
- Ensure all portfolio activities adhere to regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in finance, Investment, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience
- Proven track record in investment and financial asset management firms.
- Strong understanding of equity markets, financial analysis, and investment strategies.
- Strong understanding of fixed income and equities investment strategies, financial instruments, and risk management techniques.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and make sound investment decisions.
- High level of interest in economic and financial market trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and present complex financial concepts clearly.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a client-oriented mindset.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, working on reports, data analysis, and portfolio reviews.
